Guilty Pleasure Song

I'm BAAAAAAACK!

I think I have finally settled on a topic that I can continuously write on! Guilty Pleasure Songs.

Now what I mean by that is these are songs that I have been addicted to lately; whether they are just old songs I hadn't heard in a while or they could be completely new songs to my ears. Regardless I have listened to them non-stop and wish to share them with you!

I already have a back-log of songs so I can roll out at least one of these each week and still have fresh content waiting in the wings. I will start out with a song I have shared already with a few family and friends, but I heard it again this week and it still gets me hyped up!

"Glitter & Gold" by Barns Courtney

I was first introduced to this song via the Parker Millsap station on Pandora (more from him later.)

The short background story for this artist:
He was part of a band, they produced an album and right when they finished the record company cancelled everything. Later, he was working in a music store and decided that he wasn't finished as an artist. He still wanted to achieve musical success, so he has gone about doing just that!

There is a lot that I like about this song. The "ting-ting like glitter and gold" makes me smile for some reason. I like his voice. The continual driving drum beat is awesome. It gives me the feeling of digging deep within myself and pushing through any trials in my way. It makes me want to accomplish everything on my to-do list for the day, and to accomplish my dreams in general. No fear, just buckle down and work hard, I can win!

Needless to say, listening to this song allows me to "have fire in my soul" as well!

I hope you enjoyed this song, even if it isn't as much as I enjoy it! Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I have many more songs that I will be doing posts on. If this wasn't your cup of tea, maybe some other song will strike you.

Thanks for reading. Please subscribe so you can get these sent straight to your inbox!

Musical Musings

So, O.A.R put a song out on their last album titled "Favorite Song" which is a fantastic piece of writing. They basically made a whole song using titles of songs and artists and not much else.

Recently I came across another song "Play Something We Know" by Adam Hood. Also written based on a number of artists names and their music.

Sometimes I still feel like I could be a decent writer. Maybe my place isn't on a stage (as much as I like the limelight from time to time) but is in the support crew. As much as I love my own success, I feel as if I enjoy a team success even more....

That's all I have this morning, Happy weekend!

A little over 4 years later

I think I am going to try this blogging thing again. There is certainly plenty of insanity going on in this world for me to respond to and dance on my soapbox about.

I appreciate my 2 followers for not deleting me yet, and maybe I will accrue some others!

That's all for now.

Good to be back

Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving, and enjoyed your long weekend! Having 3 retail jobs I worked my ass off Friday Saturday and Sunday, then got my reward Monday with a terrible cold! But enough B & M-ing. I found a cd I had made a year or so ago the other day and came across this song by Fleetwood Mac. Its a simple song, but I absolutely love it and it energizes me to hear it. Hopefully you all will enjoy it too.

Eyes of the World

I couldn't find a good version of "I Can Hear the Laughs" by Freedy Johnston or i would have shared that with you too. "I can hear the laughs" is not an upbeat song, but it comes to mind because both songs are short and simple, but could have also gone on for another verse or two and been great too.

*Begin Shout out*
Happy Birthday Derick!
*End Shout out*

I have lately been writing down little lines that amuse me or intrigue me, and next post i will share some with you! Hope ya'll have a great Thursday; hey its almost the weekend!
